Britain unveils first statue of a woman in Parliament Square

This is pretty cool.    Millicent Fawcett was a major person during the suffragist movement in Britian.  If I had taken Women's Studies I would have known that, instead I followed the way of modern dance.  I love this quote from one of her speeches “courage calls to courage everywhere.”  It almost makes me cry.  Because that is what we need to keep building on and helping each other hold on to as well.  It makes me think of the wonderful quote by Anaïs Nin "life expands according to one's courage."  There are 5 Female Statues in NYC.  This is what they have in Washington. Who else do you think should have a statue? I'd love to read your comments below. : )

LONDON — At long last, it’s not all testosterone.

On Tuesday, a statue of suffragist leader Millicent Fawcett was unveiled in London’s Parliament Square — the first statue of a woman to reside in the famous square opposite Westminster Palace. The Fawcett statue joins 11 of men in the square, including Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi.
